Blotter: Thieves steal catalytic converter from local furniture shop

SALISBURY — Thieves broke into a truck that belonged to a local furniture company and walked away with a catalytic converter.

There have been a number of catalytic converter thefts in the city, county and in Iredell County.

Kimbrell's Furniture reported Monday someone gained access to a truck, which was not locked. The thieves ransacked the truck and then stole the catalytic converter. The company, which is located at 2141 Statesville Blvd., believes it occurred sometime between June 20 and Monday.

• A man reported on Monday someone broke into his vehicle that was unlocked in the 300 block of Lake Drive.

• A woman reported on Monday someone attempted to break into her home in the 1400 block of West Monroe Street.
